History Exhibit

Opening soon

Dear Friend,

The farmers' have gone through their seed catalogues and are planning for the spring.   We wait patiently for the first Saturday in April to get our first fresh local greens and other farm fresh products.

I would like to share with you something to do while you wait, an exhibit at the Boulder History Museum that is well worth going to and taking your children to see.

The Boulder History Museum is featuring a family friendly exhibit about growing up on a farm.   The exhibit includes photos of Boulder County farms in the early years and maps of agricultural land then and now.  The exhibit features the original artwork from the children's book, Growing Seasons.   Try milking the cow "Pansy", gathering eggs and other farm chores.

Exhibit is open through June 8th.

The markets will be here soon!

We have several new farmers at both markets and some farmers who have only participated in one of our locations will be attending both.  Applications from new food vendors are arriving and it is apparent that our Boulder County Farmers' Markets are the place to sell direct.  Many new businesses get their start at farmers markets and we strongly encourage the entrepreneurial food vendor to get their first experience selling direct at one of our markets.  We know our customers love to give feedback to the entrepreneurs.  We are very excited about the new crops that the farmers'are planting this year and the high quality food the new vendors will be selling at our markets.   Watch for an update on the new farms and vendors and be sure to forward this email to your friends that have shown an interest in buying fresh local food.

Boulder County Farmers' Markets website is re-designed and our website and will be putting more content about local farmers and the status of agricultural production in Boulder County.  Have a look.

Thanks for your support of the longest season, largest producer-only farmers' markets in Colorado. Producer-only means that everything offered for sale at our Farmers' Markets in Boulder and Longmont is produced by the person behind the table. (NO RE-SALE items are allowed.)
